Not too many pictures from today’s ride. It was a killer day, although short the wind was gusting to 30-35mph, so it was head down and grind the granny gears. Still a good mix of urban and country, but much more populated than the North

The real highlight of the day came at the end. I use booking.com as one of my main ways of finding accommodation, that and bedandbreakfast.nl , both have provided some great places to stay. Tonight’s hotel was a great deal, so wasn’t expecting too much. It was in the village of Bronkhurst, which turned out to be incredibly pretty.

The exterior of the hotel wasn’t bad either

I felt a bit self conscious walking into reception, sweaty and covered in dust, I was definitely under dressed for the surroundings. Expecting I’d be in some storage room because of the cheap deal, imagine my surprise been told they’d put me in apartment. The apartment it turned out, was over two floors, two double bedrooms, designer bathroom, kitchen, microwave, dishwasher, dining area and lounge !
Feeling smug at getting such a good deal, I opted to eat in their restaurant. The food was lovely, with prices to match. Still, I deserve a treat.

Tomorrow is a very short ride to Arnhem, where I’ve booked the tiniest Air BnB got two nights. I hope to do a tour of the ”Operation Market Garden” sights and maybe the Arnhem open air museum. To lengthen tomorrow’s ride, I may take a spin in the big National park, just outside the city.
Thoughts are now turning to home, I need to work out how long it’s going to take me back to Rotterdam and try and rebook my ferry.
