It ain‘t over till….

Well it was all going so smoothly, leisurely breakfast, stress fee checkout, Uber to the airport, not much of a queue at check in, bike box accepted with no questions at check in. Just security to go and then feet up with tea and relax…

Except as I got to security, guards were sealing off the area with hazard tape, the shutters were coming down and the staff leaving their posts. Lights turned off then silence. No explanations, just left gazing curiously at the scene unfolding.

Several calls over the Tannoy for a passenger ( unknown) to reclaim their bag in departure hall, gave a clue to the problem. I was just hoping we wouldn‘t be evacuated as in previous Bomb scares st the airport, as guess what ? It was raining.

Fortunately after 30 mins there was activity, the lights went on and revealed a confused old lady, surrounded by Police and no doubt in a, state of mild panic. Soon after I was through, no further delay in security, nobody waiting at Passport control. A relaxing cup of Earl Grey in the lounge, then a quick flight home ( Hopefully )
