Gearing up

With the school holidays drawing to a close this week, it’s time to start packing the panniers and preparing for another trip. Despite the inglorious end to the previous trip, it’s camping again (with maybe some hotels etc thrown in). Over the summer I mulled countless ideas, and typically only started to form a serious plan last week when I finally booked an outbound ferry. Needless to say I’ve also left it to the last minute to start to think about getting all the kit together and packing etc.

So it’s going to be Brittany, the idea this time is not to plan to much at all, just arrive and head West along the coast. I’ve a rough inland return route sketched out, but there’s also the possibility of a train return to the start point and a further excursion West. David has decided to tag along again. Clearly he wasn’t put off after the last trip !

I’ll try and keep the blog going, in some form as I enjoy looking back and refreshing my memory of what we’ve done (It sometimes becomes a bit of a blur during the trip) but may keep things shorter, as it can take some time and use up precious battery power.

I’m going to make a serious effort to eat better on this tour, although I can already hear the patisseries and crêperies calling – not to mention the temptation of local cider as well !
