Every day should start with a ferry journey, and so it was today, but not before making the most of our hotel’s buffet breakfast. The ferry journey was only a short hop across the river in Lorient to get us started Eastward. A good omen today, the card reader on the boat was broken, so the ferry was free !

Today was a shortish ride to Carnac, the riding was fairly gentle as we had no time pressures at all. We pulled up at a village for a quick coffee and were suprised to see a mini fete in progress, so traditional Breton music and dancing accompanied our drinks.

Then onwards towards Carnac, with a brief stop to see Brittany’s answer to Stonehenge at Menec.

A very overcast seaside resort welcomed us, obligatory visit to the beach done, it was off to find a restaurant and well earned late lunch.

Then the search for a campsite began. David found a lovely 4* one, after a short ride we found it, but the gate was locked. I had been assured it opened at 3pm, however true this might have been, it was 3pm 18th April 2026 ! Fortunately, there was no shortage of campsites, so we were soon comfortably installed in one. Then it was off for an afternoon swim and relaxation.
